Sharad Yadav attacks govt for taking ordinance route

Hitting out at the Narendra Modi government for taking the ordinance route on key measures, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav on Sunday said that by clearing such actions on coal and minerals, the Centre has allowed “blatant” exploitation of resources which had been so far preserved by the country.

“What has happened after the ordinances? We had preserved the resources. But now they have been opened up for blatant exploitation,” he said.

Directing his fire on Modi, Yadav further said, in reference to the former’s pet ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, Yadav said that moving around with a broom would not help as what the youth needs is employment.
“(Mahatma) Gandhi’s statues have been put up, but his ideals have been long buried,” he said in an apparent dig at Modi. Speaking at an event, the JD(U) chief said that while the cause propagated by such iconic leaders have long been forgotten, people use their names to further their own political interests.
