Shame city: Three-yr-old raped by school cab driver in west Delhi

Just a few months after a five-year-old was gangraped and brutalised in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area, the three-year-old daughter of a businessman was allegedly raped by the driver of her school cab in west Delhi’s Khayala area on Friday. The accused, who is 23-year-old, has been arrested.
According to police officials, 'The incident was reported to police on Monday at approximately 10 pm by the victim's family.

In the complaint the family members had mentioned that the victim, a student of a play-school in the Khayala area, had been raped by the driver of the cab driver in which she travelled to school.'
A medical examination was conducted at a nearby government hospital, the reports of which confirmed rape. A complaint was registered based on the report and a man-hunt was launched to nab the accused. Late on Monday night, the driver, who has been identified as Simran Jeet Singh, was arrested from his rented accommodation in the Khayala area.

'The girl had been feeling ill since Friday. Something about her condition raised her mother’ suspicion, and when she questioned the victim, she broke down and narrated the whole incident to her,’ the official said.

Late on Monday evening, the family approached the police station and lodged a complaint.
With the help of the school staff, police officials managed to find out the details of the accused driver, and he was arrested after a late night raid.

A case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code and several other sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), has been filed at against the accused at the Khayala Police Station.
