Shame city: Nepali domestic help gangraped in Malviya Nagar

A 19-year-old Nepali girl was allegedly gangraped by two labourers in the Malviya Nagar area of south Delhi. Both the accused have been arrested.
The incident took place late on Sunday night. Police officials said that the victim works as a domestic maid in the Geetanjali area of Malviya Nagar and lives in a rented accommodation in the area.

'The victim has said that she was sleeping on the terrace, when two neighbours approached her and forced themselves on her. She alleged that one of the accused covered her mouth with a pillow, before the men took turns to rape her,' an official said.
The victim has alleged that the accused warned her against revealing the incident and threatened her of dire consequences if she complained to anyone.

'However, the victim informed her sister, who in turn made a call to the police control room (PCR). After receiving the PCR call, local police officials reached to the spot,' the officer added.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for a medical examination, the results of which confirmed rape. On the basis of the victim’s complaint an FIR under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been filed.  The accused have been arrested and have been identified as Hirpal(19) and Suresh(20). Further investigation is on in the case.
