Shah relief: CPI concerned over ‘CBI manipulation’

A day after a special CBI court exonerated BJP chief Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, CPI today expressed concern over the “gross manipulation” of CBI by ruling politicians and urged courts to take suo motu action to stop “gross misuse” of investigation and judicial processes.

“Concerned judicial institutions, including higher courts need to take suo motu action to halt this gross misuse of the investigation and judicial process,” CPI said in a statement.

The party said it is obvious that the CBI has diluted the charge sheet and deliberately failed to present the facts before the CBI court that issued the discharge order.

“The CPI secretariat expresses grave concern on the gross manipulation of the CBI by the ruling politicians. The latest in the series is discharging of BJP chief Amit Shah. It is obvious that the CBI has diluted the charge sheet and deliberately failed to present the facts before the CBI court that issued the discharge order,” it said.
