Several sex rackets operating in city: Cops

After interrogating the members of Bidhannagar sex racket on Thursday, the police came to know that there were more such sex rackets operating in the city.  

According to police, the racketeers mainly distribute leaflets and advertisements to attract new comers into the business. A police officer in Bidhannagar said that the accused stick leaflets on the walls of railway stations, trains and in public places saying that “renowned film directors in the city require some new artistes for their upcoming venture. If anyone is interested to become an actor, they can call at the numbers given on the leaflets”. 

After interrogating the a woman hailing from North 24-Parganas, who was a part of the sex racket, police came that know that many housewives and college students prefer to join the industry as they can earn some amount for shooting porn movies. These short length porn movies have high market in abroad, police said. 

One of the women arrested by the Bidhannagar Commissionerate told police that she was attracted by the advertisement when she first saw it inside a local train in the Sealdah Bongaon section. When she contacted in the given number, she was asked to come down to the city for the interview. She was told during interview that she will be given a chance to play a role in some feature films. 

Later she came to know the exact motive of her employers. She was offered high remuneration for her job and later came to know that her job was to act in porn movies.
