Several former, present MPs bank defaulters: BJD leader

Leader of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the Lok Sabha, Bhartruhari Mahtab on Thursday created a flutter in the House claiming that he possessed names of major bank defaulters, which Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had refused to disclose earlier in the day citing rules. Participating in a discussion on the Budget proposals, the seasoned parliamentarian claimed that the bank defaulters list contained names of several present and former Members of Parliament. Exhorting the government to make the names public, Mahtab said the rules under extra-ordinary situations allow permission to disclose the name of defaulters and the government should come clean on it.
