Sensex up 88 pts on firm european cues

In a choppy trade, the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex on Tuesday washed out major part of its afternoon gains, but still showed a recovery of over 88 points to end at 18,629.15 following firm European cues amid short-coverings ahead of expiry of derivatives contract on 27 June.

The Bombay Stock Exchange 30-share barometer commenced slightly lower and moved erratically in a narrow range either side in early trade following weak Asian cues. Later, it bounced back due to firm european opening fell back on late profit-booking to settle at 18,629.15.
