Senior official of Punjab-based chit-fund company arrested

A team comprising officers from Punjab police and Bidhannagar Commissionerate conducted a raid in a residential complex at Lake Town and arrested the accused identified as Anindya Pal. Pal was a senior official of a chit-fund company called Dolphin Group that had collected around Rs 10 crore from the market. 

Officers from Punjab police came to know that he had taken shelter somewhere near Bidhannagar and contacted the police here. Acting on a tip-off, the Bishannagar police came to know that he was hiding in a residential complex at Lake Town and informed the Punjab police. 

Officers from Punjab Police reached the city on Monday and conducted the raid. The accused was produced before the Bidhannagar Court on Tuesday.
