Section engineer thrashed after woman alleges molestation

A case of molestation was registered at Pul Prahlad Pur police station in South-east Delhi on the complaint of a 20-year-old woman against a section engineer in the Railways posted in Tughlaqabad area in South Delhi. He has been accused of allegedly molesting her who is herself a rail staff.

According to sources, when the woman raised an alarm, the section engineer was beaten up by his fellow officers and locals present there.

Separate cases of assault and criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of duty was registered on the complaint of the section engineer who has alleged that he was being framed in a false sexual harassment case as per a conspiracy hatched allegedly by some railway employees and members of the staff union. The police have registered two separate FIRs and are probing the matter.

According to sources, the woman has complained that on Monday around 1 pm, she was busy with work when the engineer asked her for a glass of water. When she went in, he allegedly grabbed her and tried to drag her towards the bathroom. She, somehow, managed to free herself and raised an alarm. Other officers and locals gathered and beat up the accused engineer before the cops came in. 

“We have registered two separate FIRs in the incident. One on the complaint filed by the woman and the second on the complaint of the railway section engineer. We are investigating the whole incident,” said Additional DCP (South-east) Harshvardhan.
