SDMC to attach accounts of DU, Jamia

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) may attach the accounts of Jamia Millia Islamia University and University of Delhi on Friday for failing to deposit property tax. The notices to attach the accounts of these premier institutions was issued on 15 January 2013. ‘We have started the process. The time to deposit the tax expired on Thursday,’ said B N Singh, assessor and collector of SDMC. According to the notice, South Campus buildings of Delhi university has a due of Rs 2.07 crore while Jamia Millia Islamia University owes Rs 2.42 crore to the corporation.
