SDMC adds more dishes to mid-day meal menu

South Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided to include some more dishes on its menu of mid-day meal. SDMC also launched a helpline to address people’s complaints about the scheme.
‘We have ordered school inspectors to regularly monitor mid-day meals and also senior officers to supervise it,’ said SDMC education committee chairman Satish Upadhayay.
‘Soon, monitoring system at each level would be in place,’ he said.
‘The corporation is also planning to introduce Upma-Sambhar on the menu and soon more popular dishes would be included,’ he added. Upadhayay added that NGOs
have been directed to appoint a nutrition expert in each kitchen.
