SC/ST aspirants slam DU

Prospective students belonging to Scheduled Caste [SC] and Scheduled Tribes [ST] are facing problems while submitting admission forms at the Delhi University.
‘Students of SC/ST from states like Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, and Madhya Pradesh are not getting prospectus with admission forms, leading to lack of information. SC/ST students are still not clear about the admission process of the varsity,’ said Sujeet Kumar, a student of DU who is currently pursuing his MPhil in History.
He also added that, ‘SC/ST students are still quite stressed about finding the right college and the right programme. At the moment, it is like standing at a crossroad with thousand routes shooting out to thousand destinations.’ Students in this segment look for expert guidance but it has become by far more difficult due to lack of material in the students' hands.
‘DU is being irresponsible despite the fact that it gets special fund for SC/ST admission. But the dean of student welfare has assured us that he would discuss the matter with other university authorities,’ said Kumar.
