SCOPE organises event on leadership

SCOPE organised Advanced Global Leadership Programme for CPSEs at SCOPE Convention Centre on Wednesday. Nitish Sengupta, chairman,BRPSE inaugurated the programme and delivered the keynote address.

 O P Rawat, IAS, secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Arup Roy Choudhury, chairman, SCOPE and CMD, NTPC, U D Choubey, director general, SCOPE and Sougata Ray, programme director, IIM-C also addressed the inaugural session. The programme was organised in collaboration with Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta.

Arup Roy Choudhury, chairman, SCOPE in his address said business is all about taking risk without which a company can not progress.

He urged the participating senior executives of CPSEs to fully utilize the decision making powers entrusted to them fairly and transparently.

Chairman, SCOPE said senior executives of CPSEs must understand that the government is the owner of the public sector. They should, therefore, understand government’s policies and priorities and workwithin the system.

U D Choubey, director general, SCOPE in his address said CPSEs need to have a process oriented leadership and not individual oriented leadership which is accustomed in India.

Enterprises shouldcreate a system where they can develop a team of leaders which isneeded, he added.
