School of Scandal: Minor claims she was raped by senior

A class IX student at a private school in Rohini in Outer Delhi district has alleged that she was raped by a class X student in the school premises, police said on Wednesday. According to police, the incident took place on November 25 but the matter was reported at the Prashant Vihar police station on November 28. The victim told police that the 17-year-old accused allegedly lured her into an isolated area within the school premises and then raped her, threatened her of consequences if she went to the police.
“The 15-year-old victim lives in Rohini with her aunt but she did not say anything to her for the first three days after the incident. Later she broke down and narrated her ordeal to her aunt,” said a police official. The accused also lives in Rohini and the victim knew him. Police is now looking into CCTV footages obtained from the school authorities.
According to sources, the victim has refused to undergo medical examination. Also the accused was
not apprehended till Wednesday evening. The school authorities came to know about the incident only when police officials approached them on December 2.
They also claimed that between the day of the incident and the day police approached the school, the authorities had met the guardians of both the accused and the parents, but none of them mentioned anything as such, said a police official.
