School headmaster gets notice for allowing writer to disabled student

West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has issued show cause notice to the headmaster of a school in Howrah after he had allowed a writer to a physically challenged student who appeared in the Madhyamik examinations without informing the matter to the board official.

The board has served the notice to the head of the institution after he on his own allowed a writer to a physically challenged boy without the board’s permission.

According to a senior official of WBBSE, if the headmaster failed to give a satisfactory answer, action might be taken against him.

It has been learnt that if any school authorities allow a writer to a physically challenged or any candidate unable to sit in the examination, they must inform the matter to the board and seek permission.

Otherwise the board can cancel the examination of a candidate.

In such cases the school authorities generally take written permission from the education board before providing a writer to a candidate who is unable to take the examinations.

The matter came to light after WBBSE had received a complaint relating.
