SCA to soon have new office-bearers: Shah

Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) will soon have new office bearers as its president, honorary secretary and two vice-presidents are ineligible to hold their posts after the Supreme Court’s recent direction to implement the Lodha Committee recommendations. Two vice-presidents Balsinh Sarvaiya and Nathabhai Sisodiya, president Lal Rathod and honorary secretary Niranjan Shah are all over age as per the recommendations of Lodha panel, which has put an age cap of 70 years for the office-bearers in the BCCI and it’s state associations.

“SCA respects the Supreme Court’s verdict and is keen to implement the Lodha panel recommendations. We four are not eligible for holding the post and are now out of the SCA,” said Niranjan Shah. “SCA’s governing body will meet within next eight to 10 days to fill the vacant posts,” Shah said. Shah said that SCA has lot to do in terms of developing infrastructure in Saurashtra region. SCA media manager Himanshu Shah and Madhukar Vohra, who is handling the administration work in the association, are considered to be the front-runners for the post of SCA secretary.
