SC stays high court order on cases in UP

The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the Allahabad High Court order, asking the UP government to give details on criminal cases withdrawn by it during last three years. A vacation Bench of Justices AK Sikri and UU Lalit granted interim relief to the Akhilesh Yadav government that had filed an appeal against the HC order. The HC had earlier sought the details of the criminal cases withdrawn by the state government across the state in last three years. It had observed that <g data-gr-id="13">state</g> was withdrawing prosecution keeping in mind “the class consideration”.Agencies
