Saying ‘no’ to extra chapati proves deadly for wife

After a 25-year-old woman denied to give chapati to her husband on Sunday afternoon, she was brutally beaten to death in North-West Delhi’s Inderpuri area. The accused was later arrested by the police.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon around 3.30pm when the accused, identified as Bahadur (28) returned home from his work. 

While having his lunch, he demanded more chapatis from her wife who was cooking in the kitchen. She denied <g data-gr-id="21">to make</g> more chapatis for him which annoyed her husband.

According to police, initially the couple indulged in a heated conversation that turned violent. The victim, identified as Laxmi was thrashed by her husband and later she was beaten up with rods. Her husband banged her head on the wall twice and left her unconscious in a pool of blood. One of the <g data-gr-id="27">neighbour</g> made a call to the police and informed about a heated argument between the couple. 

When the police reached the spot, they found Laxmi lying in a pool of blood. She was immediately rushed to the nearby RML hospital where she was declared brought dead. Her body has been kept in the mortuary and the post-mortem is likely to be conducted on Monday. The accused fled from the spot and was hiding at his friend’s house.
