Saradha case: CBI files charge-sheet

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) didn’t mention the name of suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh in the charge-sheet that the investigating agency had filed with Bidhannagar Court two weeks ago.

The CBI had been probing into the case separately that was lodged with Bidhannagar Court in connection with the chit fund scam of the Saradha Group following directions of the Supreme Court.

It is learnt that the charge-sheet contains names of Saradha Group chief Sudipta Sen and his associate Debjani Mukherjee. The name of the Saradha Realty also appeared in the charge-sheet.

According to an officer of CBI, the name of Ghosh didn’t appear in the charge-sheet as they are yet to get his involvement in the case.

When asked whether any supplementary charge-sheet will be filed in this connection, the officer said that 

they may file supplementary charge sheet and since the name of Ghosh didn’t appear in the charge-sheet that has already been submitted, it doesn’t mean that his name will not be there in the supplementary charge sheet. But everything depends on what they find in further probe.
