Sanjay Singh offered us Cabinet berths, alleges former Congress MLA

Former Congress MLA Asif Muhammad Khan claimed that Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh had offered Cabinet berths to six Congress MLAs, out of which four were Muslim MLAs  and two others were ready to support the newbie party to form the government in Delhi last year after the drubbing in the Lok Sabha elections.

Khan, former Congress legislator from Okhla, claimed that he possesses an audio and video evidence of his meeting with AAP leaders including Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia. Meanwhile, former AAP MLA Rajesh Garg, who is behind the alleged audio sting, claimed that he had received a threat call from an ‘AAP fan’.

“I met Manish Sisodia once and held two meetings with Sanjay Singh in Noida. I am willing to make the evidence public,” Khan said. “Sanjay Singh has admitted that he met me, however, he is saying that no horse-trading was involved. I do not indulge in politics. I will be honest, I was not offered money. However, Sanjay Singh offered me ministership,” Khan said. The latter went on to claim: “Another thing that Sanjay Singh said was that our conversation should remain confidential, because some senior AAP leaders are not in favour of a government being formed with Congress support.”

Khan is now threatening to release the tape. “I have video and audio recording of my meeting with Sanjay Singh and two unknown persons. The meeting took place at a journalist’s residence in Noida. I recorded my conversation with Sanjay Singh. I will make this tape public. Singh told me to convince other Congress MLAs to support AAP,” said Khan.

The latter added: “Sanjay Singh offered us Cabinet berths and other important positions in the Delhi government if four Muslim MLAs and 2 other Congress MLAs joined the AAP.” Meanwhile, senior AAP leader Ashutosh claimed that the sting is being used to blackmail the party. “If there is a second audio tape, we challenge them to release it. This is an attempt to blackmail the AAP,” he said.
