Salman is the Khan for all seasons!

What is your role in Go Goa Gone about?

The film is a zom-com which is a new genre for Bollywood. It’s basically a horror comedy. My character is called Hardik, who is insanely kamina and politically incorrect always. It was fun to essay this kind role.

From a child actor to the main lead, was it a smooth journey?

Well it has been an interesting, enriching and a depressing journey also at times. I have seen and exprienced everything first hand, since I do not belong to a film family. I have been through a phase where some of my films worked and some did not and since then I have grown. Now, am a blessed and happy person.

You have been a part of big camps like the Bhatts, the Shettys and the Bhandarkars. Was it luck, hard work or both?

Luck is an important aspect which I can not rule out. Rest, I would say I had a good launch with Kalyug. After my performance in Kalyug was appreciated, Bhandarkar saw and selected me for Traffic Signal and the rest is history. Some directors see you as a saleable commodity and some only trust the acting instinct in you. I have always fallen in the latter category.

Were there any apprehensions at a personal level before working with Saif since he is Soha’s elder brother?

I am too excited to be a part of
Go Goa Gone
and feel elated to work with Saif. There were never ever any uncomfortable moments. In fact he made us at ease while shooting and we had a ball together.

When is marriage on the cards with Soha?

Honestly, it’s not anytime soon. We are together and that is important. Marriage can happen when we both are comfortable and can devote time to it after our career.

When are you next doing a solo hero film after Blood Money?

My next solo hero film is called Bhag Johny which is an action thriller directed by Vikram Bhatt.

You seem to be a favourite of Bhatts. What’s the secret?

All I can say is we both enjoy working together. They like me as an actor and I like them as director. It’s always a pleasure to be part of their camp, since they gave me my first break as a child actor and later gave me a launch pad as a main lead.

Are you open to new directors and hatke scripts?

I have always believed in experimentation. I have had my share of films which have been hatke. I think myself to be a dynamic actor and would continue to evolve.

Who is the Khan for all seasons according to you?

My all time favourite is Salman. His style and charisma is unbeatable. I wish to work with him soon.
