Salim-Sulaiman depict their musical journey through film
Music composer duo Salim-Sulaiman have released the trailer of their musical journey Shukranallah on YouTube. The ‘Ainvayi Ainvayi’ hitmaker Salim Merchant took to Twitter to announce the news of their new creation.
“Trailer of our film #Shukranallah-A musical journey of Salim-Sulaiman, an ode to our fans & I the almighty @Sulaiman,” the singer wrote with a Youtube link of the trailer.
The film directed by Shakti Hasija will cover the various aspects of Salim-Sulaiman’s musical odyssey including their travel around the globe, touring and playing back some of their most loved tracks for their fans.
Meanwhile, the trailer shows the preparations, the euphoria, the trials and tribulations that they went through to become established in the industry. The entire documentary will revolve around their aspirations, struggles and dreams and their vast musical experience of 25 years.
In its bid to provide exclusive and original content to its users in India, US technology giant Apple has made available Shukranallah . The film is based on the lives of musical duo Salim and Sulaiman Merchant -on iTunes Store. The film is available exclusively on iTunes Store in India for Rs 50 and on US iTunes Store for $2.99, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. The iTunes Store in India prominently features Bollywood content.
The composer duo has given many hit songs together which include songs in movies like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Jai Gangajal, Band Baaja Baraat, Kurbaan, Chak De! India, Kaal , Fashion , Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi among others.
They also collaborated with South African singer Loyiso Bala and Kenyan singer and songwriter Eric Wainaina to record the anthem for 2010 FIFA World Cup. The anthem is the song ‘Africa – You’re A Star’.
