Talented Indian GM Sahaj Grover continued his dream run at the Al Ain Classic international chess tournament defeating GM Evgenij Miroshnichenko of Ukraine to move upto joint joint second spot after the completion of the 7th round on Thursday.

With his second victory against a GM with an ELO rating of 2600, Grover took his tally to 5.5 points out of a possible seven and emerged as the best performing Indian so far with just two rounds to left in one of the strongest competitions in the Asian continent.

After outplaying Constantin Lupulescu of Romania through a king side attack, Grover outwitted Miroshnichenko with another attack but this time the Ukrainian was outfoxed from a position of strength with white pieces. Georgia’s Gaioz Migalidze continued his impressive run and held top seed Yuriy Kryvoruchko of Ukraine to a draw.
