‘S Bengal districts may receive thundershower in next 24 hours’

Alipore Meteorological office has predicted thundershower in some South Bengal districts in the next 24 hours. According to the Met office prediction, the city and its adjoining areas may receive moderate rainfall from Tuesday night accompanied by storm measuring 50-60 km per hour. Though in some districts there is an alert of thunder storm.

According to the weather office, North and South 24-Parganas, Murshidabad, Nadia, Burdwan, Birbhum and Bankura may likely to receive rainfall in the next 24 hours.  A hail storm may also hit some of the districts in South Bengal. The city on Monday had received rainfall and as result of which water accumulated at various stretches within the city for some time.

A senior official of the Alipore Met office said that as the air is filled with vapour the may be some more rain in the city. A low pressure turf has been formed which may bring rain in the South Bengal districts.

Meanwhile, the city’s temperature has dropped by some notches after the rain. The weather was sultry and a high level of discomfort till few days ago. But the temperature has considerably gone down in past couple of days. Monday’s rain had not only brought a relief for the city dwellers but also brought down the level of discomfort.

Maximum temperature in the city today stood at 36 degree Celsius and the minimum 26 degrees Celsius.

There might be some rain due to the formation of low turf area here above Bay of Bengal but there will be little delay of monsoon in West Bengal.
