RTI activist receives death threats from contractor

An RTI activist has registered a complaint against a contractor working with the Greater Noida Authority, over death threats issued to complainant. The activist has made complaints over the contractor’s use of inferior material for construction of government homes.
Salimuddin Solanki, an RTI activist from Dankaur area in Greater Noida claimed that he received a threat to his life for making complaints against a contractor of Greater Noida Authority. Solanki claimed that the accused is using inferior materials in construction work and when he raised voice he was threatened to face dire consequences.
‘When I didn’t fulfill his wish, he threatened to take my life. I have lodged a complaint to the local police station and approached the superintendent of police in the area, he said.
A senior police official said that they have been looking into the matter and penal action would be initiated if anybody found guilty.
