RSS, BJP differ over Shinde’s regret for Hindu terror remark

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was left far from satisfied saying the home minister should have at least apologised for his comment.’ As everyone expected that he should at least feel sorry for his remarks,’ said RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav. Later, Madhav posted in micro-blogging site Twitter, ‘Shinde’s Jaipur comments were derogatory and defamatory. He merely regretted. He should have  apologised. Also should have condemned Pakitani terrorists….’

The RSS and the BJP seem divided on the issue, as the main opposition party has put a lid on the issue while accepting the regret statement issued by Shinde yesterday over his controversial remark. ‘The party has decided to end the matter on Shinde,’ said  BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi said when he was asked about the RSS seeking an apology instead of a regret.

Meanwhile, the RSS spokesperson said what is more sad is that many people have made anti-India remarks on the basis of Shinde’s remarks and he in turn has said nothing about them, especially against terrorists who targeted India.’ The damage to India that has been done due to his comments, the strength it has given to those against India,he did not speak a single word about them it is very unfortunate,’ said Madhav.

Lamenting that Shinde has reduced his own stature by making such baseless remarks, he wondered how many more baseless statements were made at the Congress convention in Jaipur where Shinde had made the controversial remark. ‘By saying that his statement was baseless, there were facts in his comments, Shinde has reduced his own stature, it does not behove a Home Minister to make baseless comments. How many more things that were baseless were said at the Congress convention, this country needs to think about,’ said   RSS spokesperson.

Madhav also took a swipe at some Congress leaders in an another tweet, ‘…poured venom on India using his utterances. Also now, what would Congress leaders like Digvijay and  Mani Aiyer say? Willl they also regret?’.
