Rs 1 cr for family of stabbed teacher

The Delhi government will provide Rs 1 crore to the family of a school teacher stabbed to death by two of his students, it was announced on Tuesday. Mukesh Kumar was stabbed on Monday by two Class XII students in front of their classmates for allegedly having them rusticated for low attendance. 

He succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Tuesday, a day after he was attacked. Both the students have been apprehended. “Both the students were frequent absentees and indisciplined. Kumar used to point that out and take steps to correct them and maintain discipline in the school. 

The minor student was rusticated from the school because of poor attendance,” Joint commissioner of Police (south-western range) Dependra Pathak said. mpost
