Rose Valley scam: CBI to summon St Xavier's principal again

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will summon St Xavier's College authorities once again to question in connection with the Rose Valley Group scam.

Sources said the central investigating agency would ask the college universities to turn up to their office at CGO complex at Salt Lake next week. They would also be urged to produce some more documents to the CBI. It may be mentioned that CBI had questioned Principal of St Xavier's College Father Felix Raj on January 5 to get detailed information on transaction of Rs 71 lakh that was allegedly given for the admission of Rose Valley Group chief Gautam Kundu's son.

CBI officers came to know about the donation when investigating officers went through the transaction details of the Rose Valley Group.

It is learnt that the CBI officers want to interrogate the college authorities to know whether there was any other donation made by Kundu and to get the names of the people who had introduced Kundu to the college authorities.

It is learnt that the investigating officers would ask the authorities about some of the alumni members of the college to assess whether they had any role in transaction of the money that the group had collected from people through its various chit fund schemes.

It should be mentioned that suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh was interrogated by the CBI for around 12 long hours on Tuesday in connection with the Saradha Group scam.

Ghosh left the office of CBI at midnight. Sources said that he was once again asked about many people whose names had cropped up in connection with the Saradha Group scam. After coming out of CGO complex, Ghosh said: "I have assured all cooperation to the investigation agency to probe into the scam."
