Roommates kill businessman in Delhi de-addiction centre

Beware of admitting your dear ones to any de-addiction centre. They may never return! In a recent incident, a 33-year-old businessman was killed by his roommates at Nasha Mukti Kendra in Rohini over a small argument.

The incident took place late Saturday night when Sanjay Purohit, who had a cable business in Haridwar, had an argument with eight roommates. Purohit was brutally beaten up by them. He succumbed to
his injuries.

Rakesh Sharma, brother-in-law of the deceased, said: ‘Even after 24 hours of lodging a complaint in this matter, no FIR has been made. Cops have recovered the CCTV footage of the room where the crime took place. The footage was taken into consideration only after I mentioned it in the complaint filed on Sunday morning.’

When Sanjay Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Outer), was contacted, he said, ‘There is no such complaint. No incident like this has taken place in our district.’ Kumar instead advised this reporter to keep herself ‘updated’. A copy of the complaint is in possession of Millennium Post.
