Robert De Niro to play father in Russell’s Joy

Actor Robert De Niro has confirmed that he will play the role of a father in the much anticipated film Joy.
The 71-year-old, who was hosting a special screening of a HBO documentary in Rome Monday, said that he is been roped in by the producers to play a father in the film, reports hollywoodreporter.com.‘Yeah, I am going to do something with them. I am going to play a father,’ he said.
Directed by David O. Russell, the film will mark De Niro and Russell’s third time working together in a film . They previously worked together in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. The film will feature Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in lead roles.
