Robbery-cum-murder: Parole jumping criminal arrested

The accused has been identified as Sandeep who is a resident of Khayala in Delhi. It is worth mentioning that in the recent past, several accused persons who were granted parole in heinous cases, have not surrendered back before the jail authorities.

According to the police, a secret information was received on Thursday that Sandeep would come near a petrol pump at Main Pandit <g data-gr-id="33">Nishad</g> Raj Marg in the Daryaganj area. A team was constituted under the close supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Susheel Kumar Singh to nab him. The team laid a trap at the aforementioned place and apprehended one person who was identified as Sandeep.

Sandeep was granted parole in the above-mentioned case of the robbery-cum-murder of a jeweller. During the interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had come out of jail on parole on March 23 for 10 days, but did not surrender before the jail authorities after the completion of the parole period.

“Sandeep was born in <g data-gr-id="32">Khyala</g>, Delhi in the year 1985 and is married. His father was a govt. <g data-gr-id="36">employee</g> who died in 2010. The accused has studied up to the tenth standard. In the year 2003, he started working at a readymade garments showroom at Rajouri Garden. After a while, he left that job and starting driving a cab at a call center. In 2010, he started a Jewellery Shop and  during this phase he committed the offence when he murdered and robbed his neighbouring jeweller to make quick money,” a senior police official said.
