Robbers loot cash, jewellery from DDA employee’s house in broad daylight

In another audacious day light robbery in Greater Noida on Tuesday around a dozen robbers who came on motorcycles barged into the house of an employee of Delhi Development Authority and took away jewellery and cash.

According to the police, the robbers entered into the house of Upendra Bhati on Tuesday afternoon and cornered the Bhati’s wife who was present in the house by threatening her with a knife.

The robbers then demanded the keys of the locker from her and took away 10 gm gold jewellery and 10 gm silver apart Rs 10,000 in cash. In the police complaint the woman said that all of robbers appeared young.

This is the third such incident within 24 hours in the region. On Monday afternoon, around half a dozen robbers barged into a house in Sector 55 and looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh. The robbers also stabbed the 60-year-old owner of the house and injured his wife and daughter-in-law.

In a similar incident on Monday afternoon in Sahibabad four robbers entered a flat, beat up women and took away all the cash and jewellery from the house. ‘It’s a gang working in the region and we will nab them very soon,’ said Preetinder Singh, Noida police chief.

In another incident on Tuesday, a man conned a woman in Sector 24 and took away her jewellery on pretext of cleaning them.
