RLD tickets to Amar, Jaya from Fatehpur Sikri, Bijnore

RLD chief and current  union aviation minister Ajit Singh will contest from Bagpat while his son Jayant Chowdhury from Mathura constituency, according to the first list of seven candidates released by the party for Uttar Pradesh.

Besides them, Kartar Singh Bhadna has been fielded from Kairana, Anju alias Muskan from Bulandshahr and Niranjan Dhangar has been given ticket from Hathras. RLD has got eight seats in Uttar Pradesh under an alliance with Congress.

Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada said Amar Singh were expelled from Samajwadi Party in February 2010.

SP withdraws ticket to Raju Srivastava

Samajwadi Party has taken back the ticket given to comedian Raju Srivastava to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Kanpur, saying that he was not taking the elections seriously. ‘The party had made Srivastava its Lok Sabha candidate from Kanpur. But he was not taking his candidature seriously. ‘Instead of working in the constituency, he was spending his time in Mumbai, due to which his ticket was cancelled by the party some days ago,’ SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury told  a news agency. The new candidate from Kanpur will be decided soon, he said. Srivastava, according to media reports, had returned his ticket alleging that local party unit was not supporting him.
