RKM’s Eklabya Model School students bring laurels in HS

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had requested the general secretary of RKM Swami Suhitanandaji to take over the school and teach the students belonging to schedule caste.

Accordingly, the backward class welfare department had handed over the school to RKM.
It may be recalled that the CPI(M), instead of lauding the effort of RKM, criticised the monks and told local people during the election campaign that the school would finally provide education to the students who are from rich families.

The mission authorities got only one-and-a-half months to teach the students.Out of 57 students, five of them got above 75 per cent marks, 32 students got first division and 24 of them passed with second division marks.

The highest mark obtained by a student is 415 out of 500. In language group, eight students got more than 80 per cent marks and another 20 of them have passed with around 79 per cent marks.
RKM has upgraded the laboratory with the help of the teachers of Narendrapur.
The teachers are also providing coaching classes. The students attended a science camp in Kolkata arranged by JBNSTS.

They also took part in a two-day football match with the students of Narendrapur with an aim to give them exposure. As the school has hostel facility, the students can stay back for the coaching classes.

The RKM proposes to set up a huge complex that will come up next to the school. There will be an auditorium with a capacity of 2,000 people, seminar halls and special stress will be given so that the tribals develop respect for their own culture.

Also, they are providing special classes in English so that the students can sit for all India examinations in future. The RKM authorities also proposed to set up a coaching centre in order to support the students who go to other schools.
