RIL’s Navi Mumbai IT Park in to get CISF protection

After according full-time security cover of central forces to yoga guru Ramdev’s food park in Haridwar recently, the government will soon deploy CISF commandos to secure Navi Mumbai-based Reliance Corporate IT Park Limited.

Reliance Corporate IT Park Limited is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and located within the Reliance Corporate Park campus in Ghansoli area of Navi Mumbai.

It would be the second Reliance unit to get Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) security cover after RIL’s refinery in Jamnagar in Gujarat.

Reliance Corporate IT Park Limited deals in businesses related to Information Technology, business processing and some Reliance-backed ‘Start Up’ projects. It is thronged by lakhs of people that includes staff and visitors.

Officials said the Union Home Ministry had sometime back given “in-principle” approval for conducting a survey of the said facility by the government experts after which the CISF will deploy its armed commandos. When contacted by PTI, CISF Director General O P Singh said the “survey is currently on.” 

They said the survey was ordered after the Ministry took into account reports prepared by central security agencies and local police.
