Rhythm divine

Spandan Communications organized a two day music festival Sharad Utsav at  Kamani Auditorium on January 14 and 15.  The first day witnessed the presentation of Swarnima Gusain, a disciple of Gaan Saraswati Kishori Amonkar followed by Lakshay Mohan Gupta and Aayush Mohan Gupta who are the Grand disciples of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar.

Swarnima started the concert with raga Yaman and concluded with a dadra. She was supported well by Sarit Das on the Tabla and Paromita Mukherjee on the Harmonium.

The audience was enthralled by her silky voice and great control over musical notes. The evening concluded on a high pitch with a duet of Sitar and Sarod by Lakshay Mohan Gupta and Aayush Mohan Gupta who were supported by Akhilesh Gundecha on the Pakhawaj and Shubh Maharaj on the Tabla. This captivating performance enthralled the audience, the outcome was a standing ovation by a gathering of over 500 people.

Second day of the festival commenced with the Bharatanatyam dance presentation by Rashmi Khanna who along with her senior disciples gave a scintillating performance and received critical and popular acclaim both from the audience. The festival concluded with a classical vocal recital by Sunanda Sharma a senior disciple of  Girija Devi of Banaras Gharana.

She was accompanied by Jai Shankar on the Tabla, Murad Ali on the Sarangi and Vinay Mishra on the Harmonium. The gathering of over 600 people attended the  performances on both the days of the festival. The attendees appreciated and applauded the performances and also the efforts of the Spandan Communications for bringing together four celebrated artists on a common platform.

Also present on both the days were Pandit Sajan Mishra, Ustad Akram Khan, Mahender Kumar, Mahua Shankar, Ritesh Mishra, Jasbir Jassi, Anshuman Pandey.
