A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 30-year-old relative in North-West Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area on Saturday. The accused has been arrested, the police said on Sunday.

The incident took place on Saturday when the girl was playing with her friends and cousins (children of the accused) outside her house. The accused, who is a distant relative of the girl allegedly lured her and took her to an isolated place near her house and raped her.

The girl told police that before releasing her, he threatened her of dire consequences. When the girl managed to reach her house, she narrated the ordeal to her mother and accused the person.

The girl’s medical report has confirmed sexual assault, police said.

The police said that the traumatised girl was undergoing counselling sessions.
