Regent Park murder: Prime suspect arrested

Police have acted promptly and arrested the prime suspect in Regent Park murder case in which a mentally challenged boy was brutally killed. Police after starting an investigation arrested Sridam Biswas (25) on late Saturday night. According to the police, the accused has confessed his crime during the interrogation. The local residents of the Chakda-Jorapukur area of Regent Park found that Jaydeb Mondal (17), a mentally challenged boy was lying on a pool of blood in the neighbourhood. Some of the local residents spotted him and he was rushed to a nearby hospital by the local residents. 

After being sent to the hospital, the victim told the police that his friend had attacked him with a sharp weapon. The victim later succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s family members told the police that Sridam got addicted to drugs. The victim had become addicted after he started mixing with the accused. Sridam fled the area after the incident. 

After starting an investigation, police managed to arrest the accused on Saturday night. Police are yet to ascertain the exact reason of the murder. The investigating officer is probing if the accused had intended to kill the victim or if it was a result of a sudden fall out. Police are interrogating some of the common friends of the duo who could throw some light on the incident.
