Recruitment notice published for secondary, HS teachers

The state government has published the notification to recruit the teachers in Secondary and Higher Secondary level. But only the candidates who have teacher’s training can apply for the job. However, the state government has also notified to recruit teachers in primary school. Around 41,559 teachers will be recruited in government sponsored and basic primary schools. The primary teacher’s council confirmed to publish the district wise vacancy list soon, so that the candidate could apply as per their priority.

The state education department source confirmed that 10,233 posts are vacant for the teachers of Class IX and X. On the other hand, there are 6,296 posts vacant for classes XI and XII. The applicants can apply online in West Bengal School Service Commission’s website.

However, the West Bengal School Service Commission confirmed that the test will be conducted by them. It will be a paper of 55 marks. But another 35 marks will be given on candidate’s educational background and 10 marks personality test will be there as well.

The age limit of the secondary and higher secondary level is till 40 years. A candidate, who is 20 years old, can apply for the job. But the candidate under the reserve categories would get 3 years relaxation.

“The candidate for secondary and higher secondary level teacher recruitment examination should have 50 per cent marks in graduation. They should have Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree as well,” said an education department source.

However, the primary teacher’s council will convey the entire details of the examination soon. “The details will be given to our website. The notification will also come out in newspapers informing the detailed method of the examination and what the candidate should do to face the examination,” said the source.

It is to be recalled that the Calcutta High Court has ordered the state government to recruit primary teachers who already qualified the examination.
