REC powers April-June net 32% to Rs1,154 crore

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), a Navratna public sector undertaking  (PSU), increased its profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ended 30th June, 2013, to Rs 1,154 crore from Rs 877 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, thus registering an increase of 32 per cent.

The total income of the company for the first quarter of financial year 2013-14 increased to Rs 4,001 crore against Rs 3,093 crore in the corresponding quarter of fiscal 2012-13, thus registering an increase of 29 per cent for the period.

Rural Electrification Corporation’s earnings per share (EPS) for the May-June 2013 quarter was Rs 11.68 per share while the net worth of the corporation increased to Rs 18,076 crores. The loan asset book of Rural Electrification Corporation as on 30th June, 2013, increased to Rs 1,32,915 crore and aggregate outstanding borrowings are Rs 1,11,104 crore.
