Rebel RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav meets Rajnath Singh, all set to join party soon

On Tuesday met BJP president Rajnath Singh and senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad at the Delhi airport amid speculation that he would join the BJP and will also contest the upcoming election from Patliputra parliamentary seat.

Yadav, the most trusted aide of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, had resigned from all party posts of the RJD after former Bihar chief minister refused to accept his claim over the Pataliputra Lok Sabha seat. His pleas went in deaf ears and Lalu finally decided to field his daughter Misa Bharti from Pataliputra constituency.

Even at a recent press conference, while announcing his decision to resign from the party, Yadav broke down and claimed that he has not yet quit the RJD and had only resigned from party positions. But Tuesday’s meeting with the top BJP leaders is considered as significant and his chances of joining the BJP are higher.

However, whether he will get the Pataliputra seat or not is yet to be decided. The reason is yoga guru Ramdev is said to have sought for one of his own aides from the same constituency.
