Real estate developer beaten up by syndicate members

A real estate developer was allegedly beaten up by syndicate members at Baghajatin on Monday. The promoter lodged FIR against those syndicate members with a local police station. However, no one was arrested till Tuesday night.

Dipak Saha, the developer was building a lavish project at Ullaskar Dutta Lane of Baghajatin. But he faced various inconveniences from the beginning from the local syndicate bosses. In his complaint to the police, he said that he was forced to take inferior quality materials in a relatively higher cost.

He reportedly agreed to take those materials due to repeated threats of those syndicate members. But the members could not deliver materials in time and the work of his construction site was stopped due to irregular flow of materials.

However, in this juncture, Saha, decided to take material from the local market with much cheaper rate. This made those syndicate bosses angry. The bike borne anti-socials led by those syndicate members reached to Saha’s project site. They stopped the project and threatened the workers there.

Then they threatened Saha saying, he needed to stop the project till those construction materials reach to the site. He cannot buy materials from the outside source and said he is in fact bound to take materials from those syndicates.

Saha denial of the proposal irked the syndicate bosses. They beat him there black and blue and decamped.

However, the police identified the accused and called them up in the police station under Section of 41 CRPC.

The syndicate problem in the construction sites of the state has been a problem. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed the police to take stringent action against those syndicate leaders. Police have arrested many such anti-socials involved in the syndicate racket in Rajarhat, North 24 Parganas.
