Re-polling peaceful with good turnout

Delhiites on Monday once again turned out in good numbers to vote at two different polling stations of Delhi Cantt and Rohtash Nagar assembly constituencies, where re-polling was ordered after the recommendation of election observers.

The re-polling at both the stations went off peacefully, an official said. Delhi Cantt polling station recorded 69.68 percent voting, whereas 66.19 percent votes were polled in Rohtash Nagar polling station, he said adding that everything “went off well”.

“People came out to vote in good numbers,” he said. All arrangements were made to ensure smooth polling at both the stations. “The Election Commission (EC) had ordered re-polling at two places — Delhi Cantt and Gokulpur — of these constituencies after going through reports of the observers,”
he said, adding that there were reports of EVMs not working properly in these areas.
