Rawat hatched murder plot, alleges BJP MLA

BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi during a press conference on Sunday here alleged ousted CM Harish Rawat had hatched a murder plot when he was lodged in Suddhowala jail in the case of assaulting of police horse.

He alleged that ruling Congress government in state tried to frame in charges of injuring police horse “Shaktiman.” Joshi rubbished the allegations by saying that he was innocent in the entire episode, as horse’s leg got stuck in a hole dug up to put up the barricades.

The alleged assault took place on March 14 near Vidhan Sabha during a massive BJP rally in state capital against the Rawat government policies. He was sent to 14 days’ judicial custody on March 18 in the morning on the same day when Appropriation Bill had to be passed in the state assembly.

Mussoorie MLA said, “a political conspiracy was hatched to trap me and to defame me to spoil my political career. The police caught me in plain clothes and carried in private vehicle.  Consequently, Congress government collapsed in the assembly later and got the fruits of their misdeeds.”

He said, “In jail, I was treated like a hard-core criminal sans ordinary facility. For bath, no water was provided. When other inmates tried to provide water, the jail’s higher authorities intervened. The jail is overcrowded with more than double of its capacity. Some jail inmates having good contacts are living luxurious life while the life of ordinary inmates is like a hell.”
