Rape victim arrested for hoax bomb call in Ggn

An unidentified woman responsible for a hoax bomb call in the Good Earth City Centre Mall, in Sector 50 on August 18 has been arrested on Tuesday. Police had to evacuate around 100 people from the mall and check the premises for three hours.

The 39-year-old woman is a resident of Kirti Nagar. She is known to be working as a secretary of a CEO of a private company. The investigation revealed that she was a victim and complainant of a rape case filed in the Civil Lines police station last year.

The woman approached a person to deliver her letter to the accused in the rape case. The accused was the owner of a shop in the mall.  The letter read: “There is no point in taking this rape case forward, so <g data-gr-id="22">let</g>’s compromise this case with Rs 20-30 lakh.”

When the accused caught hold of the boy who went to deliver the letter, she made a hoax call to the police, threatening them of a bomb in the mall. This call was made to help her escape the scene.
The investigation is under process and is being dealt by IAS Kavita, from the Women Police Station.
