Rape in Vivek Vihar

A 30-year-old married woman was allegedly gang raped by two relatives of her landlord, police said on Wednesday. The incident was reported from Vivek Vihar area of east Delhi, after the woman lodged a complaint against the accused, who are absconding.
The victim told to police that on Tuesday, while she was alone at her rented accommodation in Jhilmil Colony, two relatives of her landlord came and raped her. When she tried to raise an alarm, they taped her mouth. When the victim’s husband returned home after work, she narrated the incident to him, and he reported the matter to the police. ‘A medical test of the woman was conducted in a nearby hospital, where rape was confirmed. A case has been registered against the accused,’ said the official. The landlord has been traced but the accused are absconding. The victim is a housewife and has been living with her husband in the area for the last one year.
