Rape capital ‘boasts’ of 6 cases in 2 days

In the past few days, six rape cases, including a gangrape, came to light in the capital. The incidents were reported in Gokulpuri, Adarsh Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Kanjawala, Aman Vihar and Kapashera. On Monday, the police had arrested the rapists who were involved in these cases.
In the first incident a 21-year-old girl was gangraped by two friends, Rashid and Shoib. Police have arrested one of the accused identified as Rashid while Shoib was still missing. Earlier, an FIR was lodged by the girls' parent when she went missing. Later, the police came to know that she was kidnapped by two boys who later gangraped her.
'Rashid, one of the accused of the gangrape was a common friend of the victim. Apparently, he had proposed to the girl to gain her trust and lured her to a secluded place where she was raped. Shoib, the other accused, joined him there,' said a senior police officer.
Th other incident occurred in Sangam Vihar area where a shopkeeper raped a 15-year-old girl. The accused was identified as Brijesh, a 28-year-old who runs a garment shop in Sangam Vihar. The victim's mother also runs a garment shop in the same area. He befriended the victim and raped her. After the incident, the girl informed her mother and later an FIR was made by them. Based on the complaint, Brijesh was arrested from G Block area of Sangam Vihar.
The third case was reported from Adarsh Nagar where a 15-year-old girl was raped by 20-year-old man. Narender, the accused, who works for a private firm in Ashok Vihar, was arrested by the police. The police alleged that the minor was taken to an isolated place where she was raped by him. A complaint was lodged by the father of the victim.
In another incident, a 32-year-old man was arrested by the police who had raped his minor niece. The man was an electrician. He invited the girl to his home when no one was around and raped her.
In the Aman Vihar area, Rakesh, the accused, was arrested for raping a girl. While in the sixth case, Dharamender was arrested by the police for raping a girl in Kapashera.
