Raman Singh promises to resolve investors’ grievances

Singh also advised the industrialists to maintain a good communication with villagers of the areas where they are investing as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), an official said here on Wednesday.

During a meeting with state government officials and a delegation from Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), convened by Singh late last evening at his residence, various problems and requirements of the investors and industrialists in state were discussed, the official said.

‘The chief minister assured them time-bound redressal of all their problems in the meeting,’ the official said.

The industries play an important role in the state's socio-economic development. The government is also keen on extending every possible support to them, as per its industrial policies, the official said quoting Raman Singh.

Government undertakings and agencies like State Investment Promotion Board, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation and others will also extend complete cooperation to provide the necessary approvals related to electricity, water, land and environment, as per the rules, the official said.

The Chief Minister also insisted that the CSR funds of industries should be spent after having discussions with the villagers in gram sabhas.

‘The industrialists should maintain communication with the residents of the villages, situated around their industries, and they should also utilise their CSR funds for providing facilities like public health services and education to them,’ the official said.

Earlier, CII officials gave presentations during the meeting which were based on their suggestions for immediate industrial development in Chhattisgarh and problems being faced by them here.
State government officials informed the CII delegation that the chief minister himself had deliberations with the officials of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) to ensure that the sponge iron industries receive sufficient supply of iron ores. NMDC officials have also assured extending all support for the same.
