Rama Raman shunted out, Monika Garg new boss of NOIDA

The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday transferred three IAS officers, including Chief Executive Office (CEO) of Noida Authority Rama Raman whose transfer was ordered by the Allahabad high court last month.

Raman has been removed from his post and put on the wait list while Monika S Garg , a 1989 batch IAS officer Principal Technical Education, has been given additional charge of the Noida Authority as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the rank of CEO.

The Allahabad high court had seized Raman’s powers on July 1 acting on a petition filed by Noida resident Jitendra Kumar Goyal who had alleged that Raman had been holding three posts simultaneously for three years. Raman was both the CEO of Noida authority and chairman of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities for the last three years. The court had then pointed out that the state government had “failed to follow its own policy” that an officer should not continue on the same post for a long period of time.

On its orders, the Uttar Pradesh government on July 19, appointed Pravir Kumar as Chairman of the three authorities. Raman, however, continued as Noida authority CEO.

The court had later asked the state government if it could shunt Raman out as the Noida Authority’s CEO. On August 16, the state government had informed the High Court that it had decided to retain Raman as the CEO of Noida Authority as his services were required for the running of next phase of Metro train from March.
