Ram-Leela grosses 18 cr on opening, going good

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela has opened on a positive note. The film grossed Rs 16 crore on the opening day and is likely to do a good business in the coming week due to a positive word of mouth publicity. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ‘#RamLeela *revised* Fri 16 cr.’
He also tweeted, ‘#RamLeela continues to win hearts. Saturday Rs 17.5 cr. Total so far: Rs 33.5 cr nett. Expect a bigger total on Sunday.’ Ram Leela is now placed at no. 10 position in the all time top openers’ list of Bollywood films. The chemistry between Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has impressed the audience and the film is making buzz.
It’s a good feat to achieve for a film which released during Sachin Tendulkar’s last Test match. The films which earned more money on day 1 than Ram Leela are Chennai Express, Ek Tha Tiger, Krrish 3, Agneepath, Bodyguard, Besharam, Dabangg 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Ra.One.
